Oh hello there…
My name is Tamsin, and I am the human inside of Tamsin Smyth Design. I am an illustrator, graphic artist and surface pattern designer living in the hills of Northern NSW, making myself happy by creating art with a sunny heart. I have learned that to be the best I can be for myself and everyone around me, including the planet, I have to make my own sunshine. Art is the best way I can do that.
Colours that sing, chubby shapes and flowers and animals you would like to meet, with a nostalgic twist, is how I might describe my designs. With a passion for folk art and the natural environment, my designs tend to come from my own backyard, my imagination and sometimes from dreams!
I hope that my art connects with that place inside us where things have innocence and light, that part of us that is in love with the world.
We can’t always have sunshine, so I want colour to transform your everyday; to cheer you on and cheer you up! To elevate your mood, or bring you calm. To inspire your imagination. The colours we are attracted to change as we grow, and are reflective of our inner world. I want you to celebrate your unique inner vision with colour and design that makes your heart sing.
I am also a creative explorer, and while I don’t utilise ai for my surface pattern making I am exploring its creative potentials in other ways such as neuroaesthetics. You can see another side to my artistic endeavours here.
Where Colour Meets AI Magic
“Meet Tamsin, an incredible artist from Northern New South Wales, Australia, who’s blending traditional design with AI innovation!
Her magical portfolio combines vibrant colors and whimsical characters inspired by nature, creating pieces that feel like old friends coming to life
But here’s where it gets exciting - Tamsin’s now exploring AI-generated art, crafting surreal visuals with neon lights and cosmic textures. Her work perfectly merges earthly beauty with digital dreams.”
“I understand that every artist utilising this new technology must formulate their own ethical response to its use and create their own guidelines. I see the immensely positive therapeutic bi-products of using generative technologies as being revolutionary and undervalued, and hope that the contemporary art world will come to see its incorporation into the creative space as the wonderful expansion of human vision that it is becoming.”
